Description	:	Mary Ellen Jennings, 89, of Luray, died on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014. She was born on Feb. 20, 1925, in Luray and was a daughter of the late George William Burrill Sr. and Edna Elizabeth Browning Burrill. Ms. Jennings worked as an administrative officer for the Department of Interior for 30 years. She was a Marine veteran and member and past vice commander of the American Legion Unit 22. Read More	Mary Ellen Jennings, 89, of Luray, died on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014. She was born on Feb. 20, 1925, in Luray and was a daughter of the late George William Burrill Sr. and Edna Elizabeth Browning Burrill. Ms. Jennings worked as an administrative officer for the Department of Interior for 30 years. She was a Marine veteran and member and past vice commander of the American Legion Unit 22. She was a member of the John Rhodes Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Christ Episcopal Church, where she formerly served as organist. She is survived by two sons, Charles William Jennings of Clanton, Ala., and John Edward Jennings of Potomac, Md.; a brother, Robert B. Burrill of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles Rudolph, Howard, Hunter, James Edwin and George William Burrill Jr.; and a sister, Gladys "Peaches" Burrill. A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Christ Episcopal Church by Cathy Tibbetts. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray. Page News and Courier Luray, Va.
