MARY ELLEN COYNE Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Coyne, who passed away on Thursday, March 19 at the Sac City hospital at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 17 days, were held Monday morning from St. Joseph's church at Wall Lake with Father Bausch in charge of the rites. Burial was made in the Wall Lake cemetery. Bearers were John and William Hensel, George Wernimont, William Martin, Charles Rauch and James McLaughlin. Ellen Lyons, daughter of John and Catherine Lyons, was born on a farm near Odell, Illinois, November 2, 1862 where she grew to womanhood. On August 14, 1884, she was married to John Coyne of Lockport, Illinois. For a number of years after their marriage they lived in the vicinity of Lockport, moving to Iowa in 1903. The remainder of their lives together were spent in Sac and Carroll counties in Iowa with the exception of five years in South Dakota. Her husband passed away October 22, 1918, while living in the vicinity of Auburn. She is also preceded in death by a daughter Agnes, and a son, Stephen. Left to mourn her passing are five children: Mrs. Stella Fogerty of Fonda, William of Rockwell City, Eugene of Burlington, Roy of Auburn and Mrs. Vivian Stodden of Lake View; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers, John and William of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Ralph of Odell, Illinois, and Mrs. Agnes Heidenreich of Wall Lake; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A loving mother and wife she will be remembers as one who lived a good Christian life. Relatives nd friends coming from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Coyne and son Charles of Burlington; Mrs. Stella Fogerty and three children, Robert, George and Madonna, and Pearl Anderson of Fonda; Mrs. Frank Ruddy, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McCrane of Carroll; Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Menke of Laurens; Mr. and Mrs. James Fogerty and daughter Kay of Newell; Mr. and Mrs. William Coyne of Rockwell City; Mrs. Violet Cahill, George, Ralph, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bellot all of Odell, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Alvis of Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dinges of Ida Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Walt Wildner of Regal, Minn.; Dr. Yarbrough of Renwick; Joe and Ed Devaney and Walter Herrig of Vail, Iowa.
