Description	:	Mary Ellen Stevenson was born in New Comerstown, O., November 30, 1844. At the age of ten years, she moved with her family to Jackson O., where on April 12, 1866, she was married to John A. Farrar. To this union were born five children; four sons and one daughter, who with husband, fifteen grandchildren and one great- grandchild; one sister an a host of friends are left to mourn her death. Read More	Mary Ellen Stevenson was born in New Comerstown, O., November 30, 1844. At the age of ten years, she moved with her family to Jackson O., where on April 12, 1866, she was married to John A. Farrar. To this union were born five children; four sons and one daughter, who with husband, fifteen grandchildren and one great- grandchild; one sister an a host of friends are left to mourn her death. At the age of twenty years she united with the Methodist church and has always remained a consistent member. In March, 1879, the family came to Nebraska, establishing a home near Fairmont where they remained until October, 1913, when they moved to California. During the past year Mrs. Farrar's health had been failing and they returned to Fairmont, hoping the change might benefit her, but in spite of all that could be done, she passed away at the home of their son, B.A. Farrar, Friday morning, November 2, aged 72 years, 11 months and 2 days. Her death is the first in a generation in her immediate family. On April 12, 1916, they with their son and daughter in California celebrated the golden wedding anniversary and again in Nebraska, April 12, 1917, they celebrated their fifty-first anniversary with the children and grandchildren in Nebraska. Her memory will be a precious heritage to her children and her influence for good will ever be with them. The funeral was held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon by the pastor, J.P. Yost.
