Description	:	Mary Ellen (Tennery) Snethen, 96, Blythedale, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at her home near Blythedale. Born near Piedmont, Okla., on Jan. 14, 1902, Mrs. Snethen attended country school in Oklahoma; and Graceland College at Lamoni, Iowa; and Northwest Missouri State University of Maryville, Mo. Mrs. Snethen taught school at Downey for two years during the early 1950's. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1929, the couple purchased a farm near Blythedale. He died in 1985. Mrs. Snethen also was preceded in death by a son, Richard; her parents, Thomas C. and Virginia B. Tennery; three brothers, John, Glenn and Virgil Tennery; two sisters, Evelyn Hinricksen and Rosa Belle Walton; and a grandchild. Surviving: four daughters, Virginia Sponsler, Hyumeston, iowa, Margaret Gibson, Blythedale, Norma Ward, Holden, Mo., and Ina Lou Myrick, Blue Springs, MO.; two sons, Earl, Davis City, iowa, and Thomas, Endwell, N.Y.; a brother, Earl Tennery, Oklahoma; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-great grandchildren. Services: Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lamoni, Iowa.
