Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Music will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir. Mary’s great-grandchildren, Elli, Cassie, Peyton, and Paige will present the offertory gifts. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3 p.m. on Sunday where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 5 p.m. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church in Monday morning where visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until time of the funeral mass. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Born on February 26, 1931 in Crawford County, Mary was the daughter of Anthony and Sadie (Kline) Zimmerman. At a young age her family moved to Earling, Iowa. Mary attended St. Joseph School and graduated in 1950. On April 7, 1953, she was united in marriage to Francis Case at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling. The couple resided in Indiana and later relocated to Fonda and Dow City, Iowa. Mary was a devoted homemaker and loved caring for her family. While in Dow City, she was active in St. Mary’s Church. Mary enjoyed sporting events and school activities her family participated in. In 1994, Francis and Mary moved to Carroll where they became members of Holy Spirit Church and enjoyed meeting new friends. Mary is survived by her husband, Francis Case; her children: Dan (Teresa) Case, Rod Case, Mary Frances (Jeff) Malvern, and Terry (Linette) Case; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister, Sandy (Ross) Gibilisco; her brother, Steve (Robin) Zimmerman; her brothers-in-law, Mel Schwery and Gene (Mona) Case; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and many friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Sadie Zimmerman; her grandson, Tim Case; and her sister, Sharon Schwery.
