| Description | : | Mary Emeline Lane Custar was my Grandaunt. She was the d/o Browder Reese Lane & Matilda Ours. When Emma's brother & sister-in-law, Nicholas & Eliza Jane Morrison Lane (my grandparents)died within 10 days of each other in the terrible flu epidemic of 1918, she and her husband, Edwin Edward Custar gave a home to four-year old Myrtle Irene Lane, the youngest of Nicholas & Eliza's 11 children. They brought her from New Brighton, Beaver, PA to their Cleveland, Ohio home and raised her as if she were their very own. |
