Description	:	Mary Ethel Dobson, the daughter of Thomas Riley and Julia Ann Gravatt Baker was born near Leon, Iowa on April 18, 1896 and departed from this life at the Decatur County Hospital at Leon, Iowa on June 14, 1953 at the age of 57 years, 1 month and 27 days from pneumonia. In 1918 she was united in marriage to Lewis Arthur Dobson and to this union three children were born: Thomas Joe Dobson and wife Marguerita of Leon, Iowa; daughter Evelyn Havens and husband Horace of Decatur, Iowa; and James Lewis Dobson now serving with the US Navy stationed in Long Beach, California. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Cindy, Sally, and Diane Havens and Ronnie Dobson. Two sisters: Ottie Robinson and Cecil Epperly. Four Brothers: Elva, Luther, Loris and Walter. Ten nieces and thirteen nephews and other relatives, neighbors and friends. She spent the earlier part of her life on farms near Leon, Iowa and for the last 16 years has resided in Leon, Iowa. At the time of her illness which occurred six months ago, she was employed at the Decatur County Hospital and the Middle States Utilities Company in Leon. She accepted Christ as her Saviour early in her life and was baptized November 9, 1913. She remained a faithful Christian and was very active in the church. Her greatest testimony was her life. For the last few years, she has been affiliated with the Leon Assembly of God Church. She was a devoted mother and lived for her family and to be a help to others. She lived by faith in God and had a definite hope of the life beyond. Funeral services were held from the Stewart Funeral Home conducted by George R. Lamb. Interment being made in the Bethel Cemetery. Note: Records indicate that Lewis Arthur Dobson is buried in the Leon, Decatur County, Iowa Cemetery (1881-1946)
