Mrs Hamilton fell, breaking her hip several weeks ago, and has been in serious condition since that time. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs H.D. Hayden of Pueblo, Colo, Mrs Ora Drennen and Edith at home, and six sons, Glade, Claude, and Hughie of the home community, Bruce of Fowler, Colo, Billy of Denver, Colo, and George of Montrose, Colo. Hayden of Pueblo, Colo, Mrs Ora Drennen and Edith at home, and six sons, Glade, Claude, and Hughie of the home community, Bruce of Fowler, Colo, Billy of Denver, Colo, and George of Montrose, Colo. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa Jul 15, 1940 Mary Etta McKague was born near Guelph, Ontario, April 20th, 1850, and departed this life at her home in Old Memory July 11, 1940, at the age of 90 years, 2 months, and 21 days. In 1869 she was united in marriage to Hugh Hamilton. Eleven children were born to this union, seven boys and four girls. She came to the United States when only 15 years of age. As a young bride of 19 she and her husband came from Michigan to Taylor county to make their home. She was always kind and thoughtful of others and met the trials and cares of life bravely, was a kind and patient mother, always thinking of the comfort and welfare of others first. After her own family of eleven children were grown she took into her home and heart her grandson, Vernon, whom she raised to manhood and loved as her own. She united with the Baptist church at the age of 35 and remained a faithful member to the end and was ready to go to her eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her husband and two children, Calvin and Rosina. Nine children remain to mourn the loss of their kind and devoted mother: Mrs H.B. Hayden of Pueblo, Colo, Billy of Denver, Colo, George of Montrose, Colo, Mrs Ora Drennen of New Market, Bruce, Holly, Colo, Glade, New Market, and Edith, Hughie, and Claude at home, also 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
