Description	:	Mary Eva Mathern was born Jan. 20, 1926, on the family farm south of Napoleon, N.D., the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Wald) Mathern. She was raised on the family farm and attended school at the rural Shell Butte School near Napoleon, N.D. On Nov. 6, 1944, she married August R. Aberle at St. Anthony Catholic Church at Napoleon, N.D., and they settled on the Aberle family farm, Linton, N.D. Aberle at St. Anthony Catholic Church at Napoleon, N.D., and they settled on the Aberle family farm, Linton, N.D. In 1949, they moved to a farm in Berlin, N.D., where they lived and farmed until retiring in 1982 when they moved to Edgeley, N.D. Mary Eva was a cook for the Frontier Cafe and the Edgeley Senior Center until 1990. In 1990, she moved to Manor St. Joseph in Edgeley and in October of 2004, entered St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure, N.D. Mary Eva Aberle Mary Eva was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, N.D. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and playing cards and was a frequent blood donor for the Red Cross. Survivors include eight children, Raymond (Patty) Aberle, Amenia, N.D., Betty Ann (Edgar) Peck, Lake Shore, Minn., Donna (Gerald) Bauer, Watkins, Minn., David Aberle, Fargo, N.D., Jerome (Doreen) Aberle, Berlin, N.D., Ronnie Aberle, Arlington, Texas, Gerald (Eileen) Aberle, Fargo, N.D., Patrick Aberle, Edgeley, N.D.; 18 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 12 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; eight siblings, Elizabeth Wald, Bismarck, N.D., Dorothy (Wes) Hoopman, Bismarck, N.D., Bernadette (Leo) Vetter, Bismarck, N.D., Joseph (Elaine) Mathern, Bismarck, N.D., Mary (Al) Nicolini, Lodi, Calif., Blaise (Josephine) Mathern, Minot, N.D., Rose (Joe) Aberle, Linton, N.D., and Theresa Lacher, Williston, N.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, August; two grandchildren, Amy Aberle and Christopher Aberle; three brothers; and three sisters. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, N.D., with Father Duaine Cote officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley, N.D. .
