K. BOZELLE WAS KILLED AT CURTISVILLE Killed Instantly When Auto Was Struck by Pennsylvania Train THEIR AUTO SKIDDED Kenneth Bozelle Thrown From Auto and Is Not Badly Injured Mary (Clouser) Bozelle, age 22, wife of Kenneth Bozelle, of south of Tipton, was instantly killed when the automobile in which she and her husband were riding was hit by a southbound Pennsylvania railroad train at Curtisville shortly after 1:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The accident was witnessed by John Alley and Harry Parr of Curtisville. They believed the Bozelle car slipped on the icy road and skidded into the fast train with the two occupants helpless as they moved onto the tracks. The front of the auto was struck by the engine and both people were thrown out. Mrs. Bozelle was almost disrobed and it was believed most of the bones in her body were broken. Mr. Bozelle suffered a bad scalp wound and was dazed, but it is thought his injuries are not critical. They were thrown a distance of 50 feet and their auto was demolished. Mr. and Mrs. Bozell were driving south through Curtisville on their way to Tipton while the train was coming from the northwest. The crossing in this place is clear and the two men who saw the tragedy were of the opinion that Mr. Bozelle saw the train coming only when he was very near the crossing and when he tried to stop, the car slid into the train. Mr. Bozelle was injured, but not seriously, it was believed. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Elwood. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bozelle, residing south of Tipton, and for many months was as an invalid sustained when he fell from the high tower of the McKinney Gravel Company near Windfall. He was in the Mercy Hospital of Elwood for many weeks. Mrs. Bozelle was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Clouser of Windfall. She and Mr. Bozelle, son of former County Commissioner Ralph Bozelle, were married only last summer. The couple were on their way home from visiting with the Clousers when the accident occurred. They had been gone only a short time before the car was struck by the train. Mrs. Bozelle was born Jan. 22, 1919, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Clouser. She was a graduate of the Windfall High School with the class of 1937 and on June 6 last year, she was married to Kenneth Bozelle. Survivors include the parents, two brothers, Donald and Harold, and a sister, Mrs. Oscar Porter of Tipton. They had lived with his father, Ralph Bozelle, but had intended to move shortly to the Mount farm southeast of Tipton.
