With lost hopes and saddened hearts they returned with the rermains to Springdale where the funeral was held from the Friends' church Monday at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Amos Cook, who chose the very appropriate text, Rev. 14:13. A large number of friends were in attendance and in the casket strewn with flowers, as a last tribute of love to one who was loved, she was borne and laid tourers in the Springdale cemetery by Messrs. Chas. Mather, Reese Branson, Henry Negus, Clarence Crew, W. A. Phelps and J. S. Fawcett. The deceased was in her 49th year. She was born near Damascus, Ohio, coming to Springdale in the year 1883, where she taught several successful terms of school prior to her marriage to Allan Pearson, which occurred in June 1887. While health permitted the church and Sabbath school were made better by her earnest labors. During her long lingering illness her life was an example of patience and cheerfulness, ever uncomplaining and grateful to those attending her. Although life held much that was dear to her she was resigned to her situation. All that a kind husband, skilled physicians and change of climate could do toward restoring health was done, but to no avail. The silver cord was severed and another wafted home. The husband, two daughters, Ethel and Clara aged 14 and 13 years, the mother, Liza Ann Fogg and sister, Buelah Cameron both of Damascus, Ohio, a sister, Anna Easterly of Washington, D.C., and a brother, Lindly Fogg of Cleveland, Ohio, remain to mourn their loss. The brother was in attendance at the funeral. The aged parents of the bereaved husband, to whom she had been a great stay and comfort, will deeply feel their loss.
