Mary Frances was born May 25, 1926 at Whiting, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Ruth (McElroy) Langren. She grew up in Whiting and graduated from Whiting High School. Mary Frances Langren and Leslie Gardiner George Jr. were united in marriage on May 26, 1947 at St. John's Catholic Church in Onawa. To this union, three children were born. Mary Frances was born May 25, 1926 at Whiting, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Ruth (McElroy) Langren. She grew up in Whiting and graduated from Whiting High School. Mary Frances Langren and Leslie Gardiner George Jr. were united in marriage on May 26, 1947 at St. John's Catholic Church in Onawa. To this union, three children were born. The couple made their home in Whiting, Iowa for their entire life. Les passed away December 3, 2012 at their home. After High School, Mary worked in Sioux City, IA as a teletyper for Western Union. She attended Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, IA, and graduated with a bookkeeping degree in 1979. She went to work as a bookkeeper at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa and as a CNA at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, IA. Mary enjoyed painting pictures, collecting dolls, and family gatherings. She loved her family and cherished sharing in the many activities of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. Mary was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary- Emery Johnson Post #481 of Whiting for 60 years. Mary is survived by her three children, Michael (Barb) George of Olathe, KS, Christine (Arthur) Pixler of Fenton, IA, and Joseph (Nina) George of Raymore, MO; seven grandchildren, Lesley (Gavin) Gehrt, Megan (Jeremy) Blunk, Alyssa (Ryan) Rasmussen, Sean (Christa) Pixler, Caitlin Pixler, Brittany George, and Heather George; and four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia (Richard) Montag of Colo, IA.
