Mrs. William Hart, a well-known and highly respected friend of many Lamoni residents, passed away at the family home south of here Saturday night following an illness of two weeks. Death came as the result of diabetes. Mrs. Hart was born 65 years ago in Harrison county and resided most of her lifetime in that vicinity. For about 12 years they made their home in Lamoni, moving back to their farm home in 1931. On October 4, 1891, Mr. and Mrs. Hart were married and for the following 44 years, a happy marriage and home life was theirs. To this union were born eight children, Roy, of Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Earl Richardson, of Eagleville; Mrs. Howard Steckel, of Lamoni; Mrs. Richard Myers, of Kellerton; Dennis, of near Lamoni, Malcomb, of Hiattsville, Kan., and Arlyne and Walter of the home. Besides the eight children, Mrs. Hart is survived by her husband, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the home in charge of Rev. Lyle Roe, of Otterbein. Music was furnished by the Otterbein quartet. Interment at Rose Hill. Mrs. Hart was a kindly person, considerate of others at all times and thoughtful as to their welfare. Although her health has been failing for the past three years, she remained a very cheerful person. As a wife, mother and good friend, she will be missed by her family and many friends.
