Mrs. Dietz was born on Dec. 9, 1892, on a farm north of Ashton to John and Julia (Kwiatkowski Stanczyk. She attended Mount Carmel Parochial School near Paplin and the Oak Creek School near Ashton. She farmed with her family until 1911, when the family moved to Loup City. She married John M. Dietz on Oct. 11, 1914, at Loup City. The couple first lived at Rockville, where they ran a harness shop. Later they moved to Ashton, where they continued in the harness business. The couple moved in 1919 to Arcadia, where they owned and operated John Dietz Hardware. Mr. Dietz died in 1946, and Mrs. Dietz moved to Loup City to care for her father. She continued to live in her home until March 1991. She enjoyed gardening and polka dancing. She was a member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church, its Council of Catholic Women and the rosary sodality. Survivors include one granddaughter, Susan (Mrs. Randy) Harrison of Kearney; two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Leona Murray; one brother, John Stanczyk; and seven sisters, Cashmir Dzingle, Helen Ignowski, Julia Stanczyk, Nellie Sawicki, Elizabeth Stanczyk, Vivian Watts and Vernie Janulewicz.
