Description	:	Another death, the saddest and most shocking we have heard of happened on the afternoon of the 12th of May. Mary Frances, wife of Wenchester Armstrong, died of Apoplexy. Mary Frances, wife of Wenchester Armstrong, died of Apoplexy. She sat up the night before with the corpse of Miss Ida McDowell, attended the funeral the next day, assisted her daughter, Lora wash a few clothes, went to chruning, left the churn and went into the sitting room and fell across the bed about 5 pm where her invalid husband was sitting with his back towards the bed. He was not able to turn his head and hence was not certain that it was his wife who came in. He heard loud snoring but was not alarmed until their youngest child, Blanche 7 years old came from school. She began her usual search for ma. Finding her on the bed sleeping with her eyes open, as she expressed it, she went out and told Lora, who told her to go back that she could wake her. She tried again and then began to pull at her pa and managed finally to get him up. The alarm was raised. Both physicians Gunn and Short were called, but all of their efforts were in vain. At alittle after 5 pm she breathed her last. The news spread and friends gathered to comfort the striken husband and children. Bro. Armstrong maintained his good sense despite his bodily weakness. On account of the rain the buriel was deferred until Saturday morning. Notwithstanding the rain a large number were present at the funeral and deep sympathy was shown. Sister Armstrong (formerly Whitted)was born December 10, 1839 and married Wenchester Armstrong July 2, 1862; died May 12, 1892, aged 52 years 5 months and 2 days. She was the mother of 14 children, 8 living and 6 over the river. Her christian life began when she was young and grew brighter until it sudden close. A regular attendant at the church, a friend of the poor, a helpful vistor of the sick and last but not least a devoted mother has gone to hear the welcome of his who said, I was sick and ye visted me.
