Description	:	Mary “Gayle” Hennessy, 90, Minot, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, very peacefully at Trinity Hospital in Minot after living a fiercely independent life. Mary Gayle Hennessy was born September 20, 1927 to William T. and Anna M. (Hollenfelz) Hennessy, on the family farm near Berthold, ND, located in Mandan Township. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Lonetree, ND, through the tenth grade and graduated from St. Leo’s School in Minot. Mary Gayle Hennessy was born September 20, 1927 to William T. and Anna M. (Hollenfelz) Hennessy, on the family farm near Berthold, ND, located in Mandan Township. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Lonetree, ND, through the tenth grade and graduated from St. Leo’s School in Minot. Gayle moved to St. Paul, MN when she was 19 years old, where she worked in the business field for several different employers until her retirement at the age of 70. During her time in St. Paul Gayle made many trips in her sporty Ford Mustang to visit family in the 60’s and early 70’s. After her retirement Gayle stayed in St. Paul where she devoted most of her retired life to her church in St. Paul, running errands for her shut in friends and keeping in contact with her extended family. She was a loyal Twins and Vikings fan and loved to talk sports. Gayle lived in St. Paul until the age of 88 until she was whisked away by her two nieces, Becky and Karen, to bring her to her new home in Minot where she resided until her passing. Gayle was a very gracious hostess and loved to share the history of the buildings and fine restaurants in the St. Paul area. One of her usual stops was at the St. Paul Cathedral and an Irish pub downtown. Family was very important to Gayle. Up until the last two years Gayle was faithful about sending birthday and anniversary cards to her siblings, nieces and nephews. Many holiday meals were shared with Gayle as the guest, at the home of her cousin, Elaine Monico’s son, Gino. She was very close to her cousin, Marlys and Bill Prairie who also lived in the Twin Cities area. Gayle enjoyed her daily crossword puzzles, which kept her young for 90 years. She also had a love for Christmas tree ornaments, keeping up with current events, and talking on the phone. Gayle will be missed by her: brother, Raymond W. (Patricia) Hennessy, Minot; Nieces and Nephews, Nancy Hosher, Mike Hamilton, David Larson, Mary Gayle Larson, Tim Hennessy, Rebecca Jungemann, Bill Hennessy, Patrick Hennessy, Lisa Harmon, John Paul Hennessy, and Holly Mercer and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Vivian (Ernie) Hamilton, Esther (Dallas) Larson, and Lila Ann Hennessy. Thompson-Larson Funeral Home
