She was born October 7, 1913, the only daughter of Frank and Jennie Wainwright Summers. She spent her early years at Brock attending the Brock School and the Brock Methodist Church. Read More	Obituary Memphis Democrat, Memphis, Missouri, January 24, 1991 Mary Geneva Harvey Mary Geneva Harvey, 77, of Memphis, Missorui, passed away January 17, 1991, at Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa. She was born October 7, 1913, the only daughter of Frank and Jennie Wainwright Summers. She spent her early years at Brock attending the Brock School and the Brock Methodist Church. Her family moved to Sedgewick, Kansas, where she attended and graduated from the Sedgewick High School. Upon moving back to the Brock neighborhood, she met and then married Bernerd E. Harvey on April 30, 1939. Geneva was very active in church and community affairs. She faithfully served the Lord wherever she lived. She moved her membership to the United Methodist Church in Memphis when she moved to Memphis. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Priscilla Circle. She taught Sunday School classes as long as her health permitted . She also was active in the Scotland County Historical Society, the Business and Professional Women's Association and was a 50-year member of the Rebekah Lodge #632. She served in Extension and 4-H leadership for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernerd, on July 12, 1966, her parents; son-in-law Billy Smith; and granddaughter, Tara Suzanne Blessing. Survivi ng are two daughters, Patricia Smith and Barbara Blessing and husband, Henry, of Memphis, Missouri; two sons, James F. and wife, Vonda, of Katy, Texas, and Daniel and wife, Sandy of Moberly, Missouri. She had 13 grandchildren, Rhonda Smith Mathes and husband Doug, Rusty and Ryan Smith all of Memphis, Missouri, and Robyn Smith of Burlington, Iowa; Henry Blessing, II and Stewart Blessing of Memphis, Missouri; Matthew, Alisha, Jenny and Carrie Harvey of Katy, Texas; Kara, Travis, and Brandon Harvey of Moberly, Missouri; a great-grandson, Aaron Lee Smith of Cantril, Iowa. Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Eddy Harvey, and wife, Mildred of Memphis, Missouri and a sister-in-law, Noverne Billups of Monrovia, California, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were conducted January 20, 1991, at the Memphis United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Bass officiating. Burial was in the Brock Cemetery. Music was provided by Joan Goosey and Guy Gardine. Pallb earers were Russell Smith, Ryan Smith, Doug Mathes, Henry Blessing II, Stewar t Blessing, and Matthew Harvey. Honorary pallbearers were Lee Aylward, Clare nce Kiddoo, Joe Keller, and Frank White. Services were under the direction of the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis, Missouri.
