Description	:	On Mar. 26, 1755, Amariah Storrs of Mansfield, Conn. m. Mary "Gillet" of Colchester, Conn. (Mansfield TR). She had eight children and d. on Nov. 24, 1801, Æ 68 (g.s.). In effect, her gravestone states that on the day Mary died she was 67 years old, and Ætatis suæ (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of her Age), 68. This indicates she was born AFTER Oct. 24, 1733. (NEHGR, Apr. 1893, p. 269-70) claims Jonathan and Sarah (Ely) Gillet's dau. Mary, b. Dec. 13, 1723, "m. Azariah (sic, Amariah) Storrs of Mansfield." Unfortunately, this 1893 cited work failed to include a second daughter named Mary b. of record on May 23, 1734 (Colchester TR). Despite no record regarding the death of the earlier dau. named Mary, she obviously died young and was not the wife of Amariah Storrs. Mary's extant gravestone as well as common sense vouch for the relative basis of the Storrs genealogy versus the Gillet genealogy. In the recorded family of Amariah Storrs in the Mansfield, Conn. vital records, the family's youngest child, s. Thomas b. January 12, 1778, would have been born when Amariah's wife, if she was the first of the Mary Gillet's born in 1723, was 54 years old. The correct Mary Gillet, the second recorded dau. of Jonathan and Sarah (Ely) Gillet, was 44 years old when her last child was born. Revised 12/17/2019
