She was the daughter of John and Anna Glaze and was born near Pisgah Church, August 18, 1825. She was the third of a family of six children, all of whom have preceded her except one brother, S.H. Glaze, of Cainesville, Mo, who on accounty of advanced age was unable to be present at her funeral. She was married to Daniel Redkey, October 30, 1845. Two children were born to them. Mrs Martha Brown, of Dallas, and J.G. Redkey, of this place, who now mourn the loss of a mother. Mrs Redkey was one of those rare women with such a sunshiny nature and fervent devotion to her Master that she was easily recognized as God's own. For the past eight years she has been so afflicted as to be a constant sufferer, but no-murmur ever escaped her lips and she was thoughtful to the last for those who so tenderly cared for her. She had been a member of the M.E. Church since she was twelve years old. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev J.H. Davis, assisted by Rev M Redkey, of Leesburg, and Rev Keatle, of this place, after which the remains were taken to Hillsboro for interment.
