Description	:	The funeral services for little Mary Haire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Haire, who died Tuesday night, January 30, were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. The service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. Main and the body laid to rest in the Rose Hill cemetery. Mary E. J. Haire was born in Boone county, Nebraska, June 7, 1905, and died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haire, January 30, at 7 p.m. Her death came as a great shock to her parents and friends as the Saturday before she played with her sisters and brother, coasting down hill on a sled and riding their pony. She was taken sick Sunday morning and had an operation Monday morning for appendicitis. She seemed to be getting along as well as could be expected until about two hours before the end came. For a girl so young she was ambitious and was a good student, being well liked by her playmates. She leaves two sisters, Ruth and Jessie, one brother Lenord and her father and mother, besides many other relatives. (Albion Weekly News – Albion, Nebraska – February 8, 1917)
