Mrs. Mary Hazel Jaster, 38, wife of William Jaster of 1009 Hayne street, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Sunnyslope sanatorium. The daughter of Charles Ervin and Mary Alta Walker [sic] White, she was born in Ware, Ill., October 10, 1914, and married William Jaster November 29, 1946. Her husband survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mary Margaret of Ottumwa and Velma Marie and Marilyn Jeanette, both at home; two sons, Wayne Bernard Hopkins, who is serving in the navy, and Walter Burdett Hopkins, at home; her mother, Mrs. E.C. White, Ottumwa route 2; four sisters, Mrs. Edith Muller and Mrs. Lula Reimer, both of Wilmette, Ill.; Mrs. William Long, Blakesburg, route 4, and Mrs. Leonard Byrum, Ottumwa; and three brothers, L.V. White, Bloomfield route 9; J.E. White and Herbert C. White, both of Otutmwa. She was preceded in death by her father, E.C. White, and one brother. Funeral services will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel at 10 a.m. Monday in charge of the Rev. L.J. Brugman of the Sacred Heart Catholic church. Friends will meet at the Johnson funeral chapel at 7:30 p.m. Sunday to recite the rosary. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
