Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, at Gethsemane Baptist Church in St. Matthews, with the Rev. David Faile and the Rev. Billy McGugan officiating. Burial will be in the Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery in St. Matthews. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Pallbearers will be William Herlong, Wes Johnson, Marion Crider, Royce Herlong, Mike Sandy and Larry Kemmerlin. She was born January 7, 1926, in Pickens, the daughter of the late Leroy B. Grandy and the late Ella Horger Grandy. She was retired from Roper and was preceded in death by two husbands, the late Elvin L. McIver and the late James Tager. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Grandy and Leroy Grandy, and two sisters, Ella Mae Kemmerlin and Marian White. Survivors include five children, Elvin McIver, of Pelion, Linda McIver, of St. Matthews, Johnny (Bonnie) McIver, of Orangeburg, Susan Golson, of Orangeburg and June Herlong, of St. Matthews; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the residence of Susan Golson, 4034 Wagon Road, Orangeburg, and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Orangeburg. Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.
