Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. Eva Goddard and son, Cleon, of Sumner, Washington, Harry Granger of Burlingame, California and Albert Granger of Detroit, Michigan. Mary Helena Granger, daughter of Ellis and Martha Maranville Granger, was born in Lamar, Nebraska December 28, 1893. She was married to Albert Arnold on September 9, 1909. Following the death of her husband on July 5, 1914, she continued to make her home in Lamar, Nebraska. She was married to Lowell Bates of Lamar on July 8, 1924. Surviving are her husband and aged mother, Mrs. Martha Hickles, both of Lamar, Nebraska; three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Young and Mrs. Violet Benjamin of Holyoke and Mrs. Eva Goddard of Sumner, Washington; two sons, Alvin Ross Arnold and Lowell Dean Bates of Holyoke; 11 grandchildren; and five brothers, Logan Granger of Holyoke, Frank and Alfred Granger of Lamar, Nebraska, Harry Granger of Burlingame, California and Albert Granger of Detroit, Michigan.
