She was a life-long resident of Alachua County, an Atlanta Braves fan and a devoted grandmother. She began working for the City of Gainesville in 1949 and worked her way up. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Allen Foster, Sr.; her son, Gerald Allen Foster, Jr.; her mother, Celia Holton; her father, Jess Holton; her grandchildren, Kimberly Elizabeth Foster and Robert Allen Foster; her brothers, Helmar Holton, Herbert Holton and Teaford “Blue” Holton; her sisters, Hattie Cousins and Donnie Mooney; and her daughter-in-law, Lovetta Foster. She is survived by her son, William Albert Foster (Lisa) of Citra; three grandchildren, Wendy Foster-Hammock of Gainesville, Heather Foster-Lawton (Richard) of Gainesville, and Mariam Martin of Gainesville; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Holton (Geneva) of Orlando, Tom Holton (Mary) of Ocala and Robert Holton (Marge) of Jacksonville Beach; a daughter-in-law, Effie Foster of Williston and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 N Main Street, Gainesville. Interment will follow in Memorial Park East. The family will receive friends Friday, June 15, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Please no flowers.
