Spring died at her home in Brooks Friday, January 18, 1929 at the age of 60 years, 10 months, and 16 days. Funeral services were held Monday at the Brooks M. E. Church conducted by Rev. Mr. Kelly of Nevinville, a former pastor of the Brooks Church. The body was laid to rest in the Methodist Grove Cemetery, south of Brooks. Mrs. Spring, formerly Miss Mary Hugli, was born in Switzerland, March 2, 1868. In 1887, at the age of 19 years she came to the United States and settled in Monroe County, Ohio. She was married in 1888 to Alexander A. Hedinger of Sardis, Ohio and to this union four children were born, one of whom died in infancy. Those surviving their parents are F. A. Hedinger and Mrs. Ida Walter, both of Brooks vicinity, and Mrs. Freida Northup of Nodaway. Mr. Hedinger passed to the great beyond on January 1897. In 1904, Mrs. Hedinger was united in marriage to Jacob G. Spring of Bardis, Ohio. Mr. Spring died July 4, 1925. To Mr. and Mrs. Spring one child was born, Raymond D. Spring, who lived at home with his mother. Besides her children, Mrs. Spring is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary Hanzie of Rittman, Ohio; also six grandchildren, five brothers, and two sisters. Mrs. Spring united with the church when about 15 years of age and at the time of her death was a faithful and loyal member of the M. E. Church of Brooks. In 1904, Mr. and Mrs. Spring moved from Ohio to Iowa locating north of Nodaway, and in 1917 they moved to Brooks.
