Mary Jordan, as the deceased is familiarly known to the older residents of the town and community, came to Coon Rapids with her parents when a mere girl. She was of a cheerful, happy and kindly nature, attracting people to her because of her sprightly and responsive disposition. Being sympathetic she was quick to administer in whatever way she could to those who were afflicted,and during the long months of her fatal sickness, she was patient, often cheerful and awaited the end with fortitude and resignation. Her many friends are deeply pained at her death and their sympathy is extended to the bereaved husband; daughter and near relatives. Last fall the deceased became aware that she was failing in health and soon sought a specialist at Omaha who advised her that she was afflicted with cancer. The growth was removed but gave her only temporary relief. A little later she became aware that her days were numbered and in order to be near medical treatment and to spend her remaining days with her relatives, and among friends whom she loved so well, she came to Coon Rapids from her home in Nebraska, her daughter and husband accompanying her, receiving every possible care until the end came. Mary Hyde Wilson was born in Brear, Ohio, January 21, 1864, died at Coon Rapids Sunday, April 28, 1912. When a mere child she accompanied her parents to Missouri where she resided until 1878, at which time her parents moved to Coon Rapids. She was married at Coon Rapids to Richard L. Wilson on Christmas day, 1889 at the home of her parents and at which place she passed away. She was a member of the Christian church of Coon Rapids, being converted during the service conducted by Evangelist DeVoI, March 22,1900, and was baptised by him during the same month. To this union one child was born, Edith L., who, with her father, also one brother, Louis Jordan and father Albert H. Jordan, survive to mourn her death, her mother having passed away at Coon Rapids eleven years ago. The deceased was a charter member of the Coon Rapids Rebekah Lodge No. 48, always retaining her membership here. About five years ago she, with her husband and daughter, moved onto farm near Ainsworth, Nebraska, which they had succeeded in making into a comfortable home, planning to enjoy the comforts of life, when the misfortune of sickness overtook her, soon rendering a happy home cheerless and saddened by death. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Christian church by Rev. J. E. Miller, the church being crowded with sympathetic friends. Naturally the afflicted ones appreciate the kindly ministrations extended them in their bereavement.
