Description	:	Boone County Democrat August 6, 1914 Mary Ida Olson was born in Smoland, Sweden, December 8, 1863. Her father died in 1874 and she came with her mother and family to America the next year, settling in Boone county. She was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church at the age of fourteen years. On February 22, 1890, she was married to G.G. Clouse. In 1901 they moved to Beaver where they have... Read More	Boone County Democrat August 6, 1914 Mary Ida Olson was born in Smoland, Sweden, December 8, 1863. Her father died in 1874 and she came with her mother and family to America the next year, settling in Boone county. She was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church at the age of fourteen years. On February 22, 1890, she was married to G.G. Clouse. Immediately after their marriage they settled in Clinton county, where they lived about six years and then moved to Boone county, settling near Woodward. In 1901 they moved to Beaver where they have resided ever since. Eight children were born to bless this union, two dying in infancy. Happiness reigned in their home until one year ago when Mr. Clause after a long illness passed to his reward, on July 7, 1913. Since then her health has been rapidly failing. Everything that loving hands and medical skill could do was done but she kept growing weaker all the time. She was taken to the Methodist hospital at Des Moines Friday, July 17, where it was hoped an operation might prolong her life, but upon investigation the doctors found her case to be a hopeless one so no operation was performed. She died July 17 at 8:00 o’clock p.m. She leaves to mourn her loss six children, Robert, Ray, Otto, Bernice, Elba and Rhoda, an aged mother, one sister and three brothers and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Wednesday July 22nd, at 2:30 o’clock conducted by Rev. C.M. Ward of Shelley, Iowa, a former pastor, assisted by Rev. Chambers of Grand Junction. Music was furnished by the Grand Junction choir. Interment was made in the Beaver cemetery by the side of her husband. The floral offerings were many and beautiful bespeaking the love and esteem of her many friends. The funeral was very largely attended, many friends from Boone, Ogden, Grand Junction, Woodward, Jefferson and other places being present. Not only her family but the entire community have suffered an irreparable loss by her death. She will be sadly missed in Church and social circles. The tenderest sympathy of all go out to the bereaved family in this hour of sorrow. Ogden Reporter.
