Thory Johnson and Lonnie Norton of Truluck Johnson Road, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Norton was born September 3, 1921 in Horry County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Solon and Ollie Mae Carter Benton. A member of Happy Home Baptist Church since 1944, she was a member of the WMU. Irene was a homemaker and a retired farmer. She was predeceased by one daughter, Shelby Jean Hucks and her husband, Sam; two sons-in-law, Milton Hilburn and Jimmy Alford; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Causey Johnson; one stepson, Billy Joe Norton; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Carlise Benton and Thomas Benton; and two sisters, Reba West and Lottie Radditz. Surviving are Geneva Hilburn of Galivants Ferry, Elizabeth "Lib" Holden and her husband, Graham "Bo," of Aynor, Lamar Johnson and his wife, Norma, of Aynor, Joseph Johnson and his wife, Chris, of Aynor, Kay Cannon and her husband, Edgar, of Conway, Jacob Johnson and his wife, Wilma, of Galivants Ferry, James Johnson and his wife, Jo Ann, of Aynor, Sarah Hardwick and her husband, Tommy, of Galivants Ferry and Mary Allen and her husband, Mike, of Aynor; seven stepchildren, Rev. James Prentiss Norton of Loris, Burnette Norton and his wife, Carolyn, of Mullins, Linda Carroll of Loris, Willa Mae Valder and her husband, Joseph, of Myrtle Beach, Cecil Norton and his wife, Wanda, of Aynor, Roger Dale Norton and his wife, Diane, of Aynor and Curlie Norton of Aynor; one brother, Loyd Benton and his wife, Mary, of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Lois Novinger and her husband, Hubert, of Clearwater, Fla. and Ann Nobles and her husband, Tom, of Myrtle Beach; one sister-in-law, Ethel Benton of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 29 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; 19 step great-grandchildren; four step great-great-grandchildren; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 at Happy Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Evans and the Rev. Hobert Johnson officiating.
