Description	:	Mary Gatzemeyer, 82, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, October 17, 2019, at the Columbus Community Hospital. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at 11:30 AM at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus, with Fr. Joe Miksch celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM. Read More	Mary Gatzemeyer, 82, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, October 17, 2019, at the Columbus Community Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to those of the family or donor’s choice. Mary was born on June 20, 1937, in Cuming County, Nebraska, to Herman J. and Theresa L. (Peplinski) Dinslage. She attended grade school at St. Aloysius Catholic School and graduated from Guardian Angels Central Catholic in West Point, Nebraska. She later attended flight attendant school and began working for Northwest Airlines until 1959. On May 3, 1960 Mary was married to Lowell H. Asche at St. Aloysius Catholic Church and settled on a farm in rural Leigh, Nebraska. Mary and Lowell raised five boys and were a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Leigh. After the boys were all in school, Mary worked at several businesses in Leigh and Columbus, including GTE, Sand Construction, Potter International, Tri-County (dinner club), Pioneer Airlines, and Allied Tour and Travel. Mary was then married to George L. Gatzemeyer on December 21, 1984. They would relocate to the Orlando, Florida, area where she continued her career as a Travel Agent at Uniglobe Travel. In 2004, they moved back to Columbus, where Mary and George were regulars at auctions, garage sales, and estate sales. Mary loved to cook, and knew that her grandchildren had a soft spot for her potato salad and banana bread to name a few of her delicacies. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.
