Death at 1:30 Monday afternoon claimed Mrs. Mary Jane Combie, aged 84, widow of John Crombie, and a pioneer of Vienna township. Mrs. Crombie died at the home of her son, Joel C. Crombie, at Beaman. The end was due to cancer of the liver, and followed an illness of six weeks. Mrs. Crombie was a native of New York state. She and her husband came to this county shortly after the close of the Civil War, and settled on a farm northeast of Green Mountain. Mr. Crombie died about nine years ago, and since that time his widow has been making her home with her children. Mrs. Crombie had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years. Surviving are four sons, Abel, who lives in South Dakota, Joel C. and James both of Beaman, and Mrs. Ezra Long of Whitten. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Church at 10 o'clock Wednesday forenoon.
