Description	:	Mary Jane "Jane" (Cordes) Spear was born to her loving caring parents LeRoy Henry and Beulah Euphany (Carlson) Cordes on Saturday April 22, 1939 at Fremont, Dodge County Nebraska. Jane had two siblings and was raised at Scribner, Dodge County Nebraska. Jane attended Scribner schools and was a 1957 graduate of Scribner high. Read More	Mary Jane "Jane" (Cordes) Spear was born to her loving caring parents LeRoy Henry and Beulah Euphany (Carlson) Cordes on Saturday April 22, 1939 at Fremont, Dodge County Nebraska. Jane had two siblings and was raised at Scribner, Dodge County Nebraska. Jane attended Scribner schools and was a 1957 graduate of Scribner high. Jane then attended Wayne State College at Wayne, Wayne County Nebraska for one year. Jane was united in marriage to Gary Spear on Sunday August 9, 1959 at St. Peter Lutheran Church at Scribner with Rev. O.W. Wehrmann performed the ceremony, they were blessed over the years of their marriage with three children. Jane and Gary's first home was in Wayne, Jane was employed as the secretary to the President of Wayne State from 1958 to 1960. They then lived in Tecumseh in Johnson County, Omaha in Douglas County, and Chappell in Deuel County. While living in all these cities, Jane was a full time mother, plus was able to balance other positions during this time. In 1977 they settled in Auburn, Nemaha County Nebraska. In Auburn Jane began a career in banking at the Carson National Bank. Jane started as a teller, she eventually became an operating officer and served on the bank's Board of Directors. Jane became very knowledgeable in banking compliance regulations, she even taught banking seminar classes. Jane retired from banking in 2006. Jane all her life was an extremely active member in the Lutheran church. Jane sang in the church choir, belonged to LWML, she taught Sunday school and Catechism too. While a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn, Jane was instrumental in forming the Trinity Foundation. On Monday April 17, 2017 Jane suffered a heart attack, she then spent the next eleven days fighting for her life at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln, Lancaster County Nebraska. On Friday April 28, 2017 Jane was transferred to the Eastmont Towers also in Lincoln. Sadly Jane passed on Saturday April 29, 2017 which was one week after her seventy eight birthday. Jane was 78 years, 7 days which does not include her last day, she lived a total of 28,497 days. Jane's visitation was held at the Hemmingsen Funeral Home on Friday May 26, 2017 at from 9a to 8:30p with family greeting friends from 6p to 8:30p. Jane's celebration of life was held at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Auburn on Saturday May 27, 2017 at 10:30a. Jane's inurnment of her ashes took place that day at the Scribner Cemetery at 4:30p. Jane's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Jane by Loren R.
