Description	:	Mrs. Roy Furney Rites at Scotland Funeral services for Mrs. Roy Furney who died Jan. 24 in a Scotland hospital will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Scotland. The Rev. Louis Cowherd will officiate. Internment will be in Rosehill cemetery, Scotland. Schmidt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mary Jane Ellinger was born June 28, 1889, at Beatrice, Neb., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ellinger. In 1908 the family moved to Alta Vista, Kan. She was married to Roy Furney there Oct. 10, 1909. In 1920 the couple moved to a farm near Scotland, where she spent the remainder of her life. He preceded her in death in 1957. Mrs. Furney was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and taught a Sunday school class for more than 25 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Invalided by a stroke four and a half years ago, she made her home at the Good Samaritan Center, Scotland. Surviving are her sons, Ronald, Marion; Carl, Scotland; and Clarence, Long Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters William Ellinger and Pete Ellinger, Scotland; Miss Grace Ellinger, Scotland: and Mrs. Ethyl Engel, San Diego, Calif.
