Mary Jane Gstohl, the daughter of Matthew and Martha (Hicks) Gstohl was born October 28, 1923 in Salem, SD. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1941 and went on to graduate from beauty school in Mitchell, SD. On November 10, 1943, Mary was united in marriage with William Liesinger in Salem, SD. She was a homemaker. In 1952, the couple moved to Sioux Falls and they ran the Sioux Valley Café. The couple then moved to an acreage near Hartford, SD in 1957, before moving back to Sioux Falls in 1964. While in Sioux Falls, Mary worked for her brother at Taco Town. Her husband, William, died January 29, 1966. On November 24, 1967, Mary was united in marriage with Harvey Wiese in Sioux Falls. She worked for various employers, including managing an apartment complex with her husband. Mary retired in 1970. Her husband, Harvey, died November 5, 1982. Mary was a former member of St. George's Catholic Church in Hartford and St. Lambert Catholic Parish in Sioux Falls. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, cooking, dancing, and fishing. Mary was a fan of the Minnesota Twins baseball team and the O'Gorman Knights. She liked to travel, and her most memorable trip occurred in 1998, when she and her family visited Rome, Italy and explored England. However, Mary's greatest love was for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters, Penny Lorang and her husband, Tom, of Sioux Falls, Bonnie Engle and her husband, Skip, of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, Barry Engle, Janet Parra, Heather Carroll, Paige McPherson, all of Omaha; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Florene Colwill of Sioux Falls; two brothers, Don Gstohl and his wife, Karen, of Phoenix, AZ, Joe Gstohl and his wife, Linda, of Garland, TX; and a sister-in-law, Julie Gstohl of Simms, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Laurel "Bud" Gstohl and Matthew Gstohl Jr.; and a sister, Lois Kadinger.
