Read More	At this moment, there is a discrepancy in the birth and death dates for Mary Jane (Jenkins) Loney, the third wife of Andrew Jackson Loney, better known as "Jackson". Mary Jane Jenkins, also known as Mary Jane Glass, married on March 16, 1879 in Warren County, Iowa, to "Jackson" Loney, at the home of James Jenkins. Records say she was born on 26th of March, 1844 in Indiana, and died on 17th of October, 1924 in Lucas County, Iowa; however, she is listed in Fletcher Cemetery, in the Lucas County Cemetery Records book on page 183, and it says she was born 1836 and died 1922. Therein lies the discrepancy; the records do not match. Anyway, Mary Jane brought her son Elbert I. Glass to this marriage; he was about 9 years old at the time. Mary Jane and Jackson Loney had a family of two daughters and a son before they divorced in 1898. HER NEWSPAPER OBITUARY SAYS: Mrs. Mary J. Loney passed away at her home near Oakley on Friday, October 17, 1924, at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 22 days. Deceased was born in Indiana on March 26, 1844. She is survived by three children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Alvin Loney of Chariton, Zilpha Fogle of Ravanna, Mo., and Elbert I. Glass of Lemmon, South Dakota. Funeral services were held on Monday forenoon, conducted by Rev. J.A. Riggs, pastor of the Baptist church at Chariton, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Fletcher cemetery, north of Norwood. She was a good woman, esteemed by all who knew her, and had a large circle of friends who will mourn her demise and who will extend sympathy to the bereaved ones.
