Description	:	Mary Jane Dorvall, 87, of Fromberg, Montana passed away at Highgate Senior Living in Billings, Montana September 29th, 2020. Mary was born May 4th, 1933 to Tom and Fern (Hossfeld) Lester. Mary was born prematurely and spent the first part of her life in a shoe box behind the wood stove, which was used as an incubator. Read More	Mary Jane Dorvall, 87, of Fromberg, Montana passed away at Highgate Senior Living in Billings, Montana September 29th, 2020. Mary was born May 4th, 1933 to Tom and Fern (Hossfeld) Lester. Mary was born prematurely and spent the first part of her life in a shoe box behind the wood stove, which was used as an incubator. Mary’s strong determination and tenacious personality became evident at an early age. At age 4, she attended a one room schoolhouse on Blue Water with her older sister Colleen. Even though she was too young to be attending school, she was not going to be left behind at home with her Mom and Dad. Therefore, Mary graduated from Fromberg High School two years early alongside her sister. After graduation, Mary moved to Livingston to work in a bank. It was there, that Mary’s future sister-in-law, Marie, introduced her to her lifelong husband, Robert “Bob” Dorvall. Bob and Mary were married December 3rd, 1957. From this union, five children were born; Julie, Brad, Penny, Link, and Kari. They later returned to Fromberg to operate her parent’s ranch and to raise their children. Mary’s true passion and happiness resided in farming and ranching. She loved tending to her sheep and chickens as well as milking her cows. She found joy in gardening, dancing, oil painting, and never passed up a game of pinochle. When Mary made her Cinnamon Rolls, all the neighbors congregated for coffee break to share the treat. During her later years, she enjoyed volunteering at the Clarks Fork Valley Museum and taking her afternoon drives up to Blue Water on the Kawasaki Mule with her loyal partner, Pooch. Mary is survived by her children Brad (Tanya) of Bridger, Link (Holly) of Fromberg, Penny (Steve) Uffelman of St. Xavier, and Kari Matlick of Box Elder S.D. She is also survived by 9 Grandchildren Danny (Melissa), Leann (Bryce), Shayna (Kasey), Shelby, Brandy (Eric), Wendy (Jared), Bobby, Madison, and Benny, 4 Great-grandchildren Sammy, Jett, Michael, Melia, and one on the way. Mary is preceded in death by her Husband, Bob; Parents, Tom and Fern; Daughter, Julie; Son-In-Law, D.J. Shelden; Infant granddaughter, Kelsey; Sister, Colleen; and Brother-In-Law, Norland Fuller. A special thank you to Highgate Senior Living and Compassus Hospice in Billings for their tender loving care of Mom.
