She was the widow of Drexel Nixon, former Fullerton resident. His parents were the late Charles and Bess Nixon of Fullerton. He was shop foreman at the Nance County Journal prior to his World War II Army Service. Services were April 27 in the United Methodist Church at Coon Rapids. The Rev. Alfred Rau officiated. She was the widow of Drexel Nixon, former Fullerton resident. His parents were the late Charles and Bess Nixon of Fullerton. He was shop foreman at the Nance County Journal prior to his World War II Army Service. Services were April 27 in the United Methodist Church at Coon Rapids. The Rev. Alfred Rau officiated. Burial was in the Township Cemetery at Coon Rapids, Iowa. The Ohde Funeral Home of Coon Rapids was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Nixon was born Sept. 9, 1917, in Omaha. She attended Central High School and Duchesne Academy. On Aug. 9, 1943, she was married at Omaha to Drexel Nixon. Upon Mr. Nixon's return from army service in World War II, the couple published newspapers in Wahoo, in Scranton, Iowa and the Coon Rapids Enterprise from 1961-1980. Survivors include two daughters, Molly Ecker of St. Selonga, N.Y. and Melissa Nielson of Avoca, Iowa; two sons, Drexel Nixon of Denison, Iowa and Charles Nixon of Coon Rapids, Iowa and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981 and by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.H. MacDougalof (sic), Omaha.
