L.G. ___________________________________________________________ OBITUARY FROM: Clarke Courier Berryville, Va March 19, 1902 Mrs. Mary Marquis, of near Round Hill, died Thursday morning; leaving a husband and six children. Her remains were buried at Ebenezer. On account of the condition of the roads, the undertaker had to use four horses to his hearse. __________________________________________________________ Note: I've gone through exhaustive research trying to find a marked grave for Mary. My resources included but not limited to two volunteers who have transcribed every tombstone in the Ebenezer Church of God Graveyard in Clarke County, Va on RT 604. Also, the manager of this Ebenezer Baptist (Bluemont) does not have an actual recorded entry for Mary. This is not unusual because it was common to leave graves unmarked in the old'n days. This census was taken in June and Mazie was born the previous month, but she as not listed on the census. If that count is accurate, there is still one child missing from the linked list below.
