The ages and names are close enough. Clarence is actually Alexander L Williams. I believe the Bazil Williams listed (the only correct spelling of the last name in the household), age 58 was most likely Mary's brother-in-law; her husband, Lawrence died 3 years prior. In 1860, Mary (McGavic) Williams was living with her sons Robert and Alexander in Jefferson township, Henry county Iowa. (names and ages also match the 1850 US Census). By 1870, Mary was still living in Henry County, Iowa, now with daughter Cynthia, her husband William (last name Dudley) and Mary's son Alexander. In 1880, can't find anything on Mary - may be due to illegible transcriptions. I know she wasn't living with her daughter by that time as I checked the census for Cynthia.
