Her death came as a result of complications following a major operation. Mary Jane Myers, daughter of Elizabeth and Albert Myers, was born October 24, 1884, near Adel, Iowa. Her death came as a result of complications following a major operation. Mary Jane Myers, daughter of Elizabeth and Albert Myers, was born October 24, 1884, near Adel, Iowa. She quietly passed away on June 6, 1947 at the age of 63 years. Her death resulted from complications following a major operation in the Methodist hospital, in Des Moines. She attended the Colfax No. 2 school, became a member of the Church of the Brethren at twelve years of age and grew to womanhood on her father's farm. She was united in marriage to Allen Sheaffer in 1903. To them were born nine children, Harold Everett, deceased at 12 years in 1916; Mrs. Dorothy Miller, Waterloo, IA; Carl Albert, deceased at 4 years in 1916; Mary Alice Sheaffer and Mrs. Helen Emery both of Cedar Rapids, IA; Laurence Sheaffer, Lacona, IA; Mrs. Jean Lyons, Corning, IA. She leaves besides these children, seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Clara Norris and two brothers, Robert and Orve Myers. She, with her husband, always enjoyed farm life in this community and lived on their present farm for thirty-three years where all of their children grew to adulthood. Her supreme joy was in helping others and she was never more radiant than when planning for her family. They were all at her bedside for several hours preceding her death.
