Andrew, whose maiden name was Osborne, was the widow of the late Isaac Andrew of Alburnett, Iowa. She was born in Wilmington, Ohio, January 4, 1842, and died at the home of her son, Wm. B. Andrew at Marion, Iowa, on Wednesday morning, June 18, 1913, after a brief illness. She was the third daughter of a family of eleven children, seven of whom are still living--four brothers and three sisters, scattered widely. Two brothers are living in Wilmington, Ohio, one in St. Joseph, Mo., one in the state of oregon. One sister lives in Los Angeles, Cal., and one in Whittier, Colo., both of whom she had visited the past winter in a return trip from California. Another sister resides in Danville, Ind. This family thus widely separated, formed an interesting household in the home in their childhood in Ohio. They were trained under thrift and economy of sturdy pioneer parents, whose Christian life and teachings were those of Orthodox Friends or Quakers. Thus trained in the strict principles of Christian morality and life, they became useful citizens in whatever community they settled. Miss Mary Osborne (Andrew), the favored daughter of this household was married at Wilmington, Ohio, in 1864 to Isaac N. Andrew and for forty four beautiful years of wedded life they shared the tolls, trials and joys of this happy companionship until his death Nov. 12, 1908. They had moved in 1867, soon after their marriage, from Ohio to Mount Pleasant, Iowa. After two years' residence there they moved to Linn county, settling on the farm near Alburnett, which since has been their home. Three children were born to them, all now grown to full manhood, happily married and prosperous in their business. One son, Charles O., lives at Longmont, Colo., one, S. Andrew, at Seattle, Wash. and Wm. B. at Marion with whom the mother has made her home since the father's death. She passed peacefully to her reward Wednesday morning. Mrs. Andrew thus leaves to these her brothers and sisters, and to these sons and their families, including five grandchildren, precious remembrances in the loving services as mother, grandmother and sister, beloved and and in the rich legacy of an eventful and useful life in the many years of her pioneer experiences. Her death is the step that reaches to eternity.
