She was born August 14, 1922, in Athens, Arkansas. She was a beautician and co-owner of The Beauty Shop in Lockesburg. She was a member of the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church; she loved her family, church family and enjoyed bird watching. Miss Pickett was preceded in death by her parents, James Frank and Minnie Elizabeth Stacy Pickett; four brothers, Wesley Pickett, Claude Pickett, James Pickett and Robert Pickett; her longtime friend and business partner, Joyce Raney. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Neta Dell Pickett of Lockesburg; three nieces and their spouses, Shelia and Jose Mendez of Texarkana, Texas, Barbara and Terry Butler of Nashville, Arkansas and Diann and Wallace Wooten of Lockesburg; two nephews, David Pickett and wife Katrina of Dierks, Arkansas and Nelson Pickett of Dallas, Texas; her extended family, Mike and Valerie Gathright; a number of great nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services for Miss Pickett will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, in the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Donny Davis and Bro. James Gathright officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 26th at the funeral home.
