Description	:	Page News & Courier, Friday 16 Mar 1928 Mrs. Mary Jane Sours, age eighty-eight, wife of Peter Sours, died at her home near Valleyburg, five miles Southeast of Luray, on Tuesday night. She had been bedfast only a few weeks but in a feeble condition, practically helpless and nearly blind for years. Her husband, also eighty-eight years old has been very feeble for some time. Read More	Page News & Courier, Friday 16 Mar 1928 Mrs. Mary Jane Sours, age eighty-eight, wife of Peter Sours, died at her home near Valleyburg, five miles Southeast of Luray, on Tuesday night. She had been bedfast only a few weeks but in a feeble condition, practically helpless and nearly blind for years. Her husband, also eighty-eight years old has been very feeble for some time. The two old people, unable to care for each other for some time have been dependent on their granddaughter, Miss Martha Somers, daughter of Julius F. Somers, who has resided with them for years. Mrs. Sours was a woman known far and near for hospitality and kindness of heart. She was a daughter of Jacob Sours, deceased, and the last survivor of a large family of brothers and sisters that included Noah, Barney and John T. Sours, Mrs. David Griffith, Mrs. J.B. Smith and Mrs. James Bradley, some of whom died many years ago and some recently. Mr. and Mrs. Sours have lived congenially and happily together for more than a half century. They had four children of whom Jacob lives near the parental home, John at Flint Hill, Rappahannnock county, and Mrs. Jerome Printz and Mrs. Julius Somers, have passed away. Mrs. Sours was a life-long and highly valued member of the Lutheran church. The funeral was held at the home at 2 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, Rev. A.L. Boliek, Mrs. Sours' pastor conducting the services, and the interment in the Jacob Sours Graveyard. (name of graveyard was changed)
