Description	:	Mary Jane was the Grandmother of Gladys Jenkins Lewis...Gladys was 16y when Mary Jane died at 95y, she remembered her and talked about her a lot... she said she had dementia when she died...Mary Janes Parents were James Sprinkle and Nancy Axsom .....Mary Janes death certificate on ancestry.com says no doctor attended her death,she died at home, Rusk Village, Marsh Ts, Surry co., NC she was buried the next day on August 14th, at Little Richmond BCC. Informant was her other son Avery Lewis. She was living with son Felix and family in the 1910 and 1920 census.... I remember as a young woman sitting in the living room of my mother-in-law Gladys Jenkins Lewis house and listening to her mother Augusta Hall Jenkins talking about the civil war...Mary Jane Sprinkle Jenkins had lived with her son Felix and wife Augusta.. Mary Jane was about 22yrs in 1861....So I believe Augusta was telling me what Mary Jane had told her about the hard times during the Civil War, when they would hide things in the ash bin from the soldiers.
