Description	:	Mary Jane Van Arsdol, daughter of John and Lois (Payton) Van Arsdol, was born in Delaware county, Indiana, Jan. 28, 1837, and died in Roanoke, Indiana, Dec. 24, 1899, aged sixty-two years, ten months and twenty-six days. She was first married to Robert Shroyer at the age of twenty years and to this union were born six children: William, of Perry, Iowa; Geo. Read More	Mary Jane Van Arsdol, daughter of John and Lois (Payton) Van Arsdol, was born in Delaware county, Indiana, Jan. 28, 1837, and died in Roanoke, Indiana, Dec. 24, 1899, aged sixty-two years, ten months and twenty-six days. She was first married to Robert Shroyer at the age of twenty years and to this union were born six children: William, of Perry, Iowa; Geo. W. and Ermina Colclesser, of Huntington, Indiana; Francis, whose address is unknown and John R. and Eddie who died in infancy. After her marriage to Robert Shroyer they resided for several years on a farm six miles east of Muncie, then removed to what is known as the Shroyer farm, one and one-fourth miles west of Roanoke, where Mr. Shroyer died about twenty-two years ago. After remaining a widow for several years, she was married about ten years ago to her now bereaved husband, Joseph Wade. Mrs. Wade has been identified with the church from her early womanhood and lived to adorn the profession she made as a christian. "Aunt Jane," as she was familiarly called by her family friends, was one of the truest and best of women. Her children arise and call her blessed and her husband experiences the loss of one of the best wives. As a home-maker she was unexcelled. As a mother she was true and without a fault. As a wife she was faithful, and as a friend and neighbor loved by all. As a christian, loyal to God and the church with no other ambition than to excel in the virtues of a pure and holy life. We shall meet, but we shall miss her. We shall mourn, but not recall. She had joined the Church triumphant Where she waits us one and all. Farewell daughter, wife, sister, mother, We shall meet and embrace you again, When the general roll is called up yonder, Toll on, nor seem, tho' sore it be.
