Read More	Death Calls Mrs. Mary J. Robinson The people of this city and community were grieved to learn of the passing of Mrs. Mary J. Robinson, which occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. U.N. Ellis, north east of Creighton on Tuesday afternoon at 2:10 p.m. Mrs. Robinson had been failing in health for the past year and up until the last four months was bedfast. Her death was due to old age and complications. Her husband preceded her to the great beyond on April 20, 1924. The deceased is well known in Creighton, having lived here for a good many years up to the time of her husband's calling and was a friendly old lady, kind to neighbors and always willing to help those in need. The surviving relatives are three daughters, Mrs. U.N. Ellis, Creighton; Mrs. C.W. Bird, Van Tassel, Wyoming and Mrs. Ida Burdick, Creighton. The funeral will be held today (Thursday) at 1 o'clock from the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Littrell and the remains will be interred in the Greenwood cemetery. To the bereaved relatives we extend our sincere sympathy in this their sad hour. Extracted from: The Creighton News 23 Oct 1924 ******** Mary Jane Woodward was born near Richland, Keokuk County, Ia., October 28, 1842 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. U.N. Ellis, October 21, 1824. She moved with her parents to Mahaska County, Iowa, when she was 14 years of age and settled in Spring Creek township. She joined the Friend church at the age of ten years of which she was a member until death. She was united in marriage to Robert Robinson, April 7, 1864 at Oskaloosa, Iowa. To this union nine children were born, five boys and four girls. In the fall of 1885 they moved to Butler County, Nebraska and then in the spring of 1890 removed to Knox County, Nebraska and settled on a farm east of Creighton, where they lived until the spring of 1909, when they quit farming and moved to Creighton, where they lived until three years ago last May. On account of her health, they gave up housekeeping entirely and went to the home of her daughter, Mrs. U.N. Ellis, where she lived until she was called to her heavenly home. She was taken seriously ill the first of July and regardless of the constant, loving care her daughter gave her, she never recovered. Her husband preceded her in death six months ago. Of the nine children born, three daughters remain to mourn her loss: Mrs. U.N. Ellis of Creighton; Mrs. Ida Burdick of Norfolk and Mrs. C.W. Bird of Van Tassel, Wyoming. She also leaves two brothers, S.C. Woodward, Lynch, Nebraska, C.C. Woodward of Ashland, Nebraska; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from the M.E. church, Thursday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by Rev. Littrell, assisted by Rev. Farner of Winnetoon.
