Mary Jo was a longtime York area bookkeeper and was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in York. On August 18, 1962 she was married to Lawrence A. McGowan at York. Mary Jo was an avid card player and enjoyed wintering in Texas for many years. Her pride and joy was attending her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. Mary Jo was a longtime York area bookkeeper and was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in York. On August 18, 1962 she was married to Lawrence A. McGowan at York. Mary Jo was an avid card player and enjoyed wintering in Texas for many years. Her pride and joy was attending her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. She is survived by her husband Lawrence; son Steve (Becky) McGowan; her daughters Cheryl (Jeff) Harlow and Bonnie (Wayne) Richardson. Her grandchildren include: Derek (Dayle) Harlow, Marcus Harlow and fiancé Makayla Urban, Jennifer Harlow, Elizabeth Harlow, Colby Hobbs, Kelsey (Matt) Danhauer, Kirby Hobbs, Gabe Hobbs and Dana Hobbs, Dylan McGowan and fiancé Courtney Naber, and Cody (Kylie) McGowan. Her great-grandchildren include: Colton McGowan, Taylor Harlow and Beau Harlow, and Marley Danhuaer. Also surviving is a brother Thomas (Sandy) Heser; brothers-in-law Ed Tienert and James McGowan and sister-in-law Barbara (Gaylord) Songster. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: John Heser and Richard and his wife Rosemary Heser. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at St Joseph Catholic Church in York with Monsignor James Reinert officiating. Cremation. No viewing. Inurnment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery following services.
