She graduated from Delmar High School in 1952, Mount St. Clare College in Clinton, and Marycrest University in Davenport. Mary worked at the Clinton National Bank for 46 years, serving as vice president before retiring in 2001. Mary Jo is survived by her two brothers, Robert (Marilyn) Powers of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Donald (Kathy) Powers of Macomb, Illinois; her sister-in-law, Jane King-Powers of Clinton; her brother-in-law, Otis Clay of Aurora, Illinois; and multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great- nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Paula Powers-Clay in 2003; and her brother, Richard “Bud” Powers in 2002
