Description	:	Obit in The Anthon Herald, 11 November 1964, page 1: Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Josephine Walling, 79, who died unexpectedly Saturday night at her home in Anthon were held this morning (Wednesday) at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Anthon with Rev. A.M. Conlon officiating. Burial was in Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery under direction of the Walter Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dan Galvin, Jack Galvin, Maurice Walling, Cyril Walling, Herman Walling and Jim Galvin. Mrs. Walling, the former Mary Galvin, was born May 4, 1885, at Danbury, the daughter of Jeremial and Ellen Galvin. She later moved to Anthon with her parents. She worked for Younker's as a saleslady in Sioux City and then moved to California for a short time. The remainder of her life was spent in Anthon. On September 24, 1907, she married Frank Walling at Dubuque. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Leon (Catherine) Albin of Washington, D.C., and three sons, Carlton and Francis of Sioux City, and Armand of Los Angeles, California; three sisters, Mrs. Johanna Tyrell of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Ilene McGinley of Burlington, Vermont; and Mrs. Agnes Scanlon of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Frank and Gene Galvin of Anthon and twelve grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
