She was born Mary Josephine Jurgens on March 31, 1913 to Robert August and Theresa Ann (Klutsch) Jurgens at Burke. She was born Mary Josephine Jurgens on March 31, 1913 to Robert August and Theresa Ann (Klutsch) Jurgens at Burke. The family moved to Cashmere in 1918, where she received her early education and in 1926 to Wenatchee, where she graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1930. On Sept. 20, 1930, she married Rodman B. Rice in Ephrata and they moved to Wenatchee, where they owned and operated fruit ranches in the Wenatchee area, until Mr. Rice's death in 1956. On July 9, 1959 she married George Dintleman in Wenatchee and from 1962 until 1972 they lived in Monterey, CA. In 1973, they moved to Leavenworth where she worked as a cook at the Cascade Hospital and following Mr. Dintleman's death in 1978, she moved to Cashmere, where she was employed by Remley Warehouse until her retirement. In 1992, she moved to East Wenatchee to be near her grandchildren. She was a member of the Lincoln Park Assembly of God Church in Wenatchee. Devoting time and love to her many grandchildren, to great-great-grandchildren was her greatest joy and pride in her final years. She will be missed by her family and the many friends she has touched during her lifetime. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Dale Wilcox of East Wenatchee; nephew, Carl Swanson and his family of Virginia; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters and seven stepchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Rodman Rice in 1956 and George Dintleman in 1978 and by three sisters and three brothers. A service of remembrance for Mary Jo Dintleman will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, March 31, 1999 at the gravesite in the Mt. View Cemetery, with Pastor Mike Mann, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Park Assembly of God Church; 1621 Methow St., Wenatchee, WA 98801. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
