She was a resident of Walnut for many years. She was born January 17, 1915 at Walnut, a daughter of Frank and Margaret Trainor Westhoff. She grew up in Walnut and attended Walnut Schools. She married Lawrence Fox on October 23, 1934 in St. Patrick's Church in Walnut. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1988. She was a homemaker, involved in the family farm operations, and she worked at the US Census Bureau in Pittsburg for a number of years. She was a member of St. Michael's Church in Girard and a former member of St. Patrick's Church in Walnut, the Ladies Altar Society and the Daughter of Isabella. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, traveling, playing cards, and she was a democratic precinct committee chairperson. She was a sponsor of Adopt A Child for many years. Survivors include sons, Frank Fox and wife Frances of St. Paul, Pat Fox and wife Nancy of Walnut, Mike Fox and friend Brenda Fogg of Walnut, and John Fox and wife, Anita of Girard; daughters are Loretta Parkison and husband W.H. "Bud" of Frontenac, Barbara Vitt and husband Bernard of Tulsa, Mary Lou Murray and husband Don of Frontenac, Frances Eaton and husband Allen of Sabetha, Sharon Wineinger of Kansas City, Missouri, Linda Purdon and husband Bill of Bentonville, Arkansas, LaDonna Marsh of Kansas City, Kansas and Charlene (Tina) Backhus and husband Ed of Sarasota, Florida; 35 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Westhoff, and brothers Lawrence Westhoff, Verdan Westhoff, and John Westhoff. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Walnut with Fr. Donald R. Thissen as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Walnut. The Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M., Sunday at St. Patrick's Church where friends may call after 1:00 P.M., Sunday. The family will receive friends in St. Patrick's Hall following the Rosary. Friends may call from 2 until 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard. Memorials are suggested to the Lawrence and Juanita Fox Scholarship Fund at Pittsburg State University or Harry Hynes Hospice and these may be left at the church or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743. ~*~
